Webinar 18: Air quality monitoring at the local level: the case of Dakar, Senegal

Air pollution in cities is a major threat to the population, with significant negative impacts on public health, but also on climate change, the water cycle, ecosystems, energy production, amongst others. Monitoring air quality (measuring the level of different pollutants in the air, where they are concentrated, and their sources) is essential to raise public awareness, inform air quality policies and measure progress.
During this webinar, we discuss the monitoring of air quality in Dakar, the development of the CGQA, its operation, as well as the results and challenges since its inception. The CGQA is under the tutelage of the Directorate of Environment and Classified Institutions, Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Senegal.
