Tianjin – GEF-6 (SCIAP)

Tianjin, a major port city and one of China’s four direct-controlled municipalities, participated in the GEF-6 SCIAP to strengthen low-carbon transit-oriented development. The project supported diagnostic analyses of land-use potential along metro corridors, traffic demand management, parking strategies, and investment frameworks for TOD financing. These interventions helped integrate land development and public transport planning, contributing to Tianjin’s broader low-emission mobility agenda.

Tianjin – GEF-8 (SCIP)
Under the GEF-8 Sustainable Cities Integrated Program (SCIP), Tianjin participates in the Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei cluster to expand nature-based interventions and circular economy practices. The city is strengthening integrated planning and decarbonizing infrastructure, particularly in transport and building sectors. By aligning actions with local and regional planning cycles, Tianjin mobilizes public–private investment and accelerates progress toward carbon neutrality and urban resilience.
