Mysore, officially Mysuru, a major cultural and tourist center in Karnataka, participated in the GEF-6 SCIAP to strengthen waste management and sustainability planning. Known for its exemplary sanitation record, Mysore leveraged the program to enhance institutional capacity and promote digital coordination among stakeholders through the PLATFUS online platform. This web-based system was designed to support sustainable city strategy implementation and long-term data management for planning. By combining strong civic participation with innovative tools for service delivery, Mysore demonstrated how mid-sized heritage cities can advance integrated waste management, mobility, and resilience while maintaining environmental quality.
