GPSC Global Online Series 2021. Overview of Tools and Applications for Urban Climate Mitigation: A Deep Dive with Urban Performance and Rapidfire

This World Bank internal deep dive session focused on two urban modeling tools that have been deployed to advise urban practitioners on how better plan and manage urban expansion in ways to prioritize principles of compact growth, green spaces and to lower carbon footprints. It focused on two case study applications; Urban Performance as applied to select Indonesian cities assess public transit and public space planning and Rapidfire, which was used to assess potential growth scenarios for Chongqing (China). The purpose of the session was to give Task Teams and city officials a better sense of what kinds of applications the tools can be used for, how they work and what type of data and support is needed for implementation.
