As head of the Urban Ecology Agency since May 2021, François manages City of Paris policies on the living : urban nature, biodiversity, participatory greening, animal welfare, sustainable food and agriculture. His team oversees a host of public entities such as Paris House for Nature, House for Gardening, House for Animals, Paris Farm and the Biodiversity Observatory. The agency also supervises strategic documents as the Biodiversity Plan, the Tree Plan, the Sustainable Food Plan, or the landscape and nature regulations of the Paris urban masterplan, entitled « Bioclimatic », which aims to develop and ensure better protection for biodiversity and trees across the city. From the start of his career, François has been working in public local management, beginning with non profit agencies, before joining the City of Paris in 2008. He was initially in charge of the digital sector, then ran the music sector office at the Paris Cultural Affairs Department before managing the municipality's innovation policies as head of the Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Creative Industries Service.
