Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan and a UNESCO Creative City, participated in the GEF-6 SCIAP to strengthen sustainable urban planning and resilience. With its growing population and pressure on civic infrastructure, Jaipur focused on developing a comprehensive GHG inventory and a Sustainable City Strategy (SCS). The project aligned with the city’s Solar City Master Plan and broader climate action goals, promoting renewable energy, efficient transport, and sustainable tourism. Through GPSC engagement, Jaipur also established partnerships with global networks such as C40 and ICLEI, positioning the city as a model for integrating cultural heritage preservation with low-carbon, inclusive urban development.
