The IRSDC has published new Manuals and Guidebooks on Station Redevelopment including Commercial development. These documents help with the operationalisation of National TOD Policy and Form Based Codes advocated by MoHUA. These have been finalised after extensive research over last three years, nationwide consultation with all stakeholders including MoHUA, NIUA, TCPO, DDA, MMRDA, state governments, railways, professional bodies and experts as well as taking feedback from international experts.

The concepts of vertical mixed use, built to edge, active frontage etc. have already been adopted by DDA in the Delhi master plan -2041. Besides railways, these can be adopted by urban local bodies/ development authorities, state governments to guide development in their area as well. Kudos to the planning team of IRSDC, creative footprints team and Shakti foundation in particular in delivering these documents which will enable RAILOPOLIS vision to be realised in railway area where one can live, work, play and ride.
