City Overview
Dakar, the capital of Senegal, is located on the coast at the extreme west of the country. With its surroundings, it constitutes a metropolis called the Greater Dakar. Over the years, Dakar has developed without much of integrated urban planning and has outgrown the initial infrastructure. This reinforces the complexity of dysfunctions and urban challenges within the city. This project will support in the development of integrated urban plan for the cities with focus on integrating climate change risk into the plans (the GPSC Resource Team can potentially support in the aspect of climate change), and will establish national platform within Senegal to share knowledge and enhance partnership among cities.
