To conclude the series “Cities on the Frontlines”, co-hosts Francis Ghesquiere and Lauren Sorkin shared reflections on the role of resilience, together with Dr. Sam Stratton-Short, ARUP International Development and Karina Castillo, Resilience Coordinator, Office of Resilience, Miami-Dade. In the session, they also welcomed founding members from R-Cities’ Racial Equity Community of Practice (CoP) to share thoughts on dismantling systemic racism and building anti-racist cities.

Cities on the Frontline Speaker Series was a weekly speaker series co-organized by the Global Resilient Cities Network and the World Bank City Resilience Program from March to December 2020. The purpose of the series was to share knowledge to help cities respond to the pandemic crisis and plan towards recovery with resilience. Questions about the Speaker’s Series can be directed to media@resilientcitiesnetwork.org.
