As COP27 approaches, global attention focuses on the urgent commitments needed to address the unfolding challenges of climate change. Cities are at the front and center of the fight against the cascading climate crisis and have a critical role in the global discussion.

Join us in our 13th session of Cities on the Frontline 2022, jointly organized by Resilient Cities Network and the World Bank where we will bring together leading urban institutions leveraging the active participation of cities at the COP27 in Egypt. Representatives from Resilient Cities Network, ICLEI and UCLG will exchange on how cities and their networks are preparing for the COP27 and share how local governments and urban stakeholders that will be attending the conference can participate and engage in activities to promote cities leadership to advance resilient actions addressing global climate challenges.

Featured Speakers

This session will feature Dania Petrik, Professional Officer for Climate Change, Energy & Resilience at ICLEI, Pablo Mariani, Policy Officer at UCLG and Dana Omran the Global Director, Strategy and Operations and Regional Director for Africa at Resilient Cities Network.

Cities on the Frontline is a virtual thought leadership speaker series. The series, which began in 2020 co-organized by the Resilient Cities Network and the World Bank Group’s City Resilience Program, provides city practitioners and the industries and residents that they support, an understanding and means for responding to the pandemic and associated stresses, as well as solutions for planning towards a more resilient recovery.
