On October 27, 2024, mayors and high-level representatives from over 15 countries gathered alongside financial institutions led by the World Bank at the first Mayors Forum of the Urban Nature Program. This event took place during the CBD COP16 in Cali, Colombia, uniting global city leaders to advance nature-positive development on an international scale.

 

The Mayors Forum served as a platform for city leaders to showcase their commitments, inspire heightened ambition, and emphasize the essential role of cities in global biodiversity efforts. During this inaugural gathering, participants shared their vision for urban nature, calling for greater investment in green and blue infrastructure to support sustainable and resilient cities.
